A SUMMARY
Learn the art of hexagonal-weave basketry while discovering pattern and unity in nature and many of the worlds traditional cultures. During this day workshop in the beautiful setting of Emerson College you will be inspired by the SAOG Studios workshops and deepen your understanding of fundamental design principles such as the Golden Ratio. You will be able to bring home with you a woven open hexagonal weave basket and time allowing some woven spherical polyhedra.

Daniel Docherty is co-founder and senior tutor at SAOG Studios, Emerson College and a visiting tutor at The Prince's Foundation School of Traditional Arts, London. Daniel is particularly interested in how the revered quadrivium (arithmetic, geometry, music and astronomy) inform the world’s artistic and cultural traditions. He lives with his family on the glorious Ashdown Forest.
