A SUMMARY

By joining our classes you will learn several styles of yoga including Hatha and Vinyasa Flow . Set to music, this is a dynamic series of postures with a dance like quality. Vinyasa means "breath-synchronised movement.” ... Vinyasa has both physical and mental benefits. Physically, sweat releases toxins and re-energises our bodies. Mentally, the synchronised breathing relaxes the chatter of the mind and helps to release any blockage of energy flow throughout our bodies. Hatha yoga is a traditional style of yoga which emphasises on the physical postures to master the control of the mind. Hatha yoga is a great practice for beginners and people looking to find a more gentle approach to yoga. There will also be a guided relaxation at the end of every class. The class caters to all abilities and is for ages from 16 to adult. Yoga for teens is particularly important because the brain continues to develop throughout early to late teenage years. The prefrontal cortex is the area behind the forehead and is developing fast in the teenage years, learning to plan, organise, and regulate mood. In this way yoga is great for the teenage body by building up strength and flexibility as well as for the mind to keep calm and focused during challenging times in life - such as exams or relationships.

I am a mother of two and have been teaching yoga for 5 years but practicing yoga for 15 years! I have done lots of training with internationally known yoga teachers starting with Mark Frieth and then gaining my 500hr teacher training qualification with Noah Maze. I love yoga and am particularly passionate about Vinyasa flow yoga but also teach Hot yoga, Yin Yoga and Pregnancy yoga. I founded Yard Yoga studio in 2014 which has become a thriving part of the community.
