A summary
Are you aged 50+? Do you wish you could still play, but find the game too fast these days? Walking football is a great way to keep fit and rediscover your competitive side and love of football. Due to the slower pace and reduced contact, walking football reduces the risk of injury and is a fun way to stay active. Remember, no sprinting, running or jogging, only walking. What should you wear? Any clothes that you are comfortable exercising in and trainers What do you need to bring? A bottle of water. If you’ve had surgery within the past 12 weeks, it’s important you follow your doctor's advice on getting active again. For information on getting active after surgery visit the NHS webpage ‘Getting back to normal’ https://www.nhs.uk/tests-and-treatments/having-surgery/recovery/ or call the Active Hastings GP Link Worker on 01424 451051. Active Hastings wants everyone to be able to join in, no matter their budget. We use a simple sliding scale ticket system so you can choose what you can afford: • £3 – the suggested price that helps cover the cost of running the session • £2 – a lower price if money is tight • Free – for people on low incomes or receiving benefits The free tickets work on trust. If you can pay £3 or £2, please do, so that the free tickets are available for those who really need them. Booking via EEQU for the first time? If you need help setting up your account, check out the ‘Getting Started’ information at https://help.eequ.org/en/articles/3301219-how-do-i-join-to-make-bookings or give us a call on 01424 451051.
About your mentors
Active Hastings
Physical activity sessions for everyone!
Active Hastings is an externally funded partnership project between Hastings Borough Council and East Sussex County Council Public Health. We have been working in partnership since 2006 to give local residents easy, fun ways to get their everyday dose of physical activity. It only takes 150 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity each week for adults and 60 minutes every day for children to benefit your health, both mental and physical. You can even break it down into 10 minute slots! All of our team are experienced sports coaches, fitness instructors and play workers, who are passionate about working with people of all ages in Hastings and St Leonards. We run free or low cost sessions throughout the year, as well as holiday activities as part of the Holiday Activity and Food programme.

My experience consists of a leisure activity, on a specific date(s), and therefore the 14-day ‘cooling off period’ under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply.
