I've been teaching children of all ages in Forest Row and the surrounding schools for many years. I like to find out the individual child's musical interests and build up a repertoire of satisfying tunes which increase in difficulty at just the right pace. Over time I will teach you everything from reading sheet notation and/or tabs to improvising a funk solo. You can also learn how to properly care for your instrument and play/write your favourite songs. I'll show you how to find yourself in your sound and fuel your motivation by learning what you love. I am happy to arrange 30 minutes lessons for £16 and 45-minute lessons for £22.50.
About your Mentor
About your Mentor
I have been teaching guitar for around 35 years and playing it for even more, among other instruments. I was classically trained and have spent my whole life involved in the music industry, in that time I've come to the conclusion that the best way to start your musical journey is to learn what you love. This is at the core of my teaching. ----------- Ben's musical ambitions began at Dartington Hall, where he formed a band with his mate Mark. In the early 70's, he went on to study at Trinity College of Music. He has played in Precious Little, The Banned, The Keys and The Retros as well as a stint as a session musician. He plays regularly for both the National Theatre and the RSC. When he has time from both these and his commitments with The Retros, he teaches guitar, arranges and composes
