A SUMMARY

Come along and join in a fun, hands on Easter cooking class for children in a relaxed home environment, creating a number of dishes to be enjoyed both at the class and to take home. Even if your child's cooking experience has been limited, you will be in for a surprise when you see what they can actually create! 1. Classes are run on a drop off basis for children over 5 years (see Pre-Schooler classes for under 5yrs) 2. All of the ingredients are included in the cost of the class - just bring along a bundle of take away containers to take your delicious meals home.... if the children haven't already eaten it before you arrive to collect them! 3. The children will make: * Chocolate Egg Cheesecakes * Frittatas (using fresh eggs collected from our chickens); * Bunny Twist bakes 4. Each class will have between 4-6 children, so that the children can get the attention they need and deserve but its still a fun sociable atmosphere 5. It will always be me, Lisa, running the classes ...

About your Mentor

About your Mentor

Lisa

I have always enjoyed crafts and creating things. I have been cooking since I was a little girl, helping my Nanna and having fun experimenting in my Mum’s kitchen. I have passed this love on to my daughter and many other children now. I love being around people, especially children, and helping them to discover their creative talents. I have a very patient teaching style, which is definitely needed for cooking with children! Cooking is an absolute passion of mine and I'm rather good at it. It's where I can truly express myself. I love looking through recipes and understanding how they work. I worked as a solicitor in my days before motherhood and believe so many of the skills I acquired there are transferrable to cooking. I believe so much in the power of cooking to help with many other aspects of our lives, to empower us, encourage us and allow our self expression. Cooking from a young age inspires children (and adults!) to try new foods, try new things in life, not be afraid to g...

Learning aims

To be able to weigh, mix, beat, knead, chop, roll, stir, count, measure, whisk, decorate, tear, layer, sprinkle, mash, squeeze, prick, construct, envelope, tickle (though maybe not all of these in one class!).

Strengths to develop

The cooking classes are very hands-on. The children are preparing and making almost every aspect of the food, using physical co-ordination, strength, dexterity and gentleness where needed. By being so hands on, children get to know what different ingredients and combinations of ingredients should feel like and are more likely to remember and want to try again.
