A summary
An old saying goes 'The shortest distance between two hearts is a story'. For me storytelling is about inspiring wonder and connection between place, people, plants, creatures, the past and and the future. In this workshop we'll play a simple word game you can use again and again. We will develop a character together and I'll tell a short story which involves that character, a sack of gold and buttercups - and possibly some fairies too. We will have a go at learning that story and re-telling it so you have it in your memory banks for ever. We'll then share some stories ourselves through the medium of an environmental art/land art activity to build trust and connection, before we look at a handful of tips and tricks to engage audiences and build your confidence as a storyteller. Sarah Lawful Chair of the FSA came on the workshop recently and had this to say about it: Chris's warm heart, love of nature and natural storytelling have influenced my work and deepened my understanding that we are all born storytellers. Somewhere along the way, we have had this joy stolen from us. This workshop will help you rediscover your story and reignite the spark, giving you courage and passion for the lost art of storytelling.
