A summary
Participate in a range of wellbeing exercises, with a foundation of nature connection. These are suitable for working with children and adults and can be used with groups, in 1:1 contexts or applied personally. We will experience the activities first-hand, and discuss the theories, practicalities and differentiation when bringing them to your setting. We will draw on and explore: * The importance of nature connection * Emotional regulation strategies * The use of metaphors * Anchoring positive experiences * Promoting ongoing nature connection after a FS programme ends * Personal reflection time * How nature supports our personal wellbeing.
About your mentors
Louise Horsfall
Environmental Education Officer at The Hive
Since childhood, I have recognised the holistic benefits of nature connection and been driven to share them with others. I have been working in Outdoor Education and Forest School for around ten years and have specialised in targeted therapeutic work through Wilderness Therapeutic Approaches (Level 3). I also bring a wealth of personal learning and experience in using approaches such as neurolinguistic programming (NLP), self-coaching, art journalling, nature metaphors and body-mind connection activities, which have been instrumental in my recovery from chronic illness and burnout. I enjoy weaving my tools together to promote wellness in all aspects of life.
Nic Harding
Project's Officer at FSA
As the Project Officer, I'm pleased to be organising the annual Forest School Association Conference. I am appearing as a Mentor on each workshop to give me oversight and allow me to help out on the day, I may not actually be on your workshop.

Cancellation Policy
Free bookings do not require refunds but as places are limited, please cancel if you cannot attend so that your place can be offered to someone else.

My experience consists of a leisure activity, on a specific date(s), and therefore the 14-day ‘cooling off period’ under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply.
