What we'll do
Did you know that many children -one in five- will have hearing difficulties that impact their development at any point during their early lives? Come along and learn a little about deafness, and share practical top tips on how to include, support and connect with deaf children. We will talk about talking and talk about signing! We will learn through play, story and song and learn some Forest School Signs. I look forward to meeting you at the FSA Conference this year and welcoming you to my workshop.
About your mentors
Susie Cornish
Enriching communication with deaf children
I am a teacher of the deaf with a particular interest in developing and enriching early language, listening and attention. I do this through play, singing and games- following the child’s own interests often working alongside families. I support families in developing their skills in understanding deafness and making the most of all opportunities to enrich communication with their children whatever method they choose: BSL, Sign Supported English, (SSE) or spoken language.
Nic Harding
Project's Officer at FSA
As the Project Officer, I'm pleased to be organising the annual Forest School Association Conference. I am appearing as a Mentor on each workshop to give me oversight and allow me to help out on the day, I may not actually be on your workshop.

Cancellation Policy
Free bookings do not require refunds but as places are limited, please cancel if you cannot attend so that your place can be offered to someone else.

My experience consists of a leisure activity, on a specific date(s), and therefore the 14-day ‘cooling off period’ under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply.
