What we'll do
We are Yate Youth and we run open youth sessions in the Yate area, our sleepover session runs from Friday night until Saturday morning, we offer a safe, warm space to hang out with your mates, play pool, sports, PS4 or Xbox, we will have Christmas craft and Gift making, Christmas cooking activities, free dinner, midnight snacks, 3am baking and breakfast. Throughout the night, youth workers are supervising and offering different activities. We have plenty of room to offer chilled out areas and areas where more activities can take place. Young people need to bring their own duvets/sleeping bags, pillows etc. DISCLAIMER: Why we call this session a sleepover is a mystery, as although we encourage sleeping most of our young people stay awake most of the night. We also offer C-Card, advice and accreditation to recognise the amazing work young people can achieve out of school too, including Duke of Edinburgh, South Glos Awards and Asdan! Our Youth Workers are ready and waiting to meet you, with an ear to listen, a shoulder to lean on and a voice to encourage you! You can attend all our sessions, 1 of our sessions or a few, just book, turn up and say Hi
About your mentor
Jamie-Leigh Sabin-Staines
Experienced Youth Worker
At 17 whilst completing my A levels to become a forensic scientist I started volunteering at Youth Clubs and it changed the whole trajectory of my life, I fell in love with Youth Work and have been doing it ever since. I have a Level 3 Diploma in Youth and Community Work and hours and hours of training behind me on Mental Health, Sexual Health, Autism, SEN, Trauma Informed working and much more, with 17 years of Youth Work experience. I have been working in the Yate area for 8 years now and another 2 years previously, I currently manage the Youth provision at Brimsham Youth Wing, St Nix Youth Centre and the Urbie detached project in the area!
Suitable for
This session is only suitable for young people who have previously attended sessions and know the team. This is to ensure the night runs smoothly with staff knowing your young person and likewise your young person knowing the staff and feeling comfortable staying with them overnight If you would like your young person to attend some of our open access sessions before the sleepover, please contact us but they will not be accepted into the sleepover until we feel we have a relationship with them

Cancellation Policy
Free bookings do not require refunds but as places are limited, please cancel if you cannot attend so that your place can be offered to someone else.

My experience consists of a leisure activity, on a specific date(s), and therefore the 14-day ‘cooling off period’ under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply.
