Drama

This is a drama group for homeschoolers between the ages of 13-15. We are very excited to offer our experience as long-standing professionals in the film tv and theatre industry to share with these young people. Our aim is to provide young people with a vibrant introduction to theatre craft. These weekly classes will develop creativity, confidence and team-work. The class curriculum includes theatre games, movement, improvisation, stagecraft, film critique and performance technique. There will also be the opportunity to sing and have fun playing instruments and making music. Our sessions will begin with a physical warm-up and move on to improvisation games, followed by a series of projects including playwriting workshops, text work and how to build a story.

Learning aims

To be able to participate in short improvisations using gesture, movement and/or facial expression.

Strengths to develop

The connection of the body and voice to inhabit the character is essential to our dramatic work. We will be learning how to use the body to enhance expression and communicate. We will also look at practical elements such as posture to teach how to release tension that builds up particularly in young people of this age.
