A SUMMARY
Come join this interactive course where we will explore your own wild stories and weave them into your very own art piece. In the morning we will explore your ideas using a range of different activities and materials. You will then learn how to use a mini 2 shaft Micki Leksaker loom during our technical mastery and creative experimentation afternoon session together. This workshop is a fun first step in weaving and will put you in good stead, if you decide to develop your weaving skills later on. All necessary equipment and materials will be provided for use on the day. We will have a half hour break for lunch; please bring a packed lunch with you.
About your mentor
Claire Bessel
When your mentor provides a strapline it will go here
I am a weaving consultant, weaving teacher and woven textile artist. I qualified with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Textile Science and Handloom Weaving from The Swedish School of Textiles in 2009 and have since then been developing my own practice in the field of art and weave design. I’ve developed courses in basic and advanced weaving, draft construction and textile material and have refined them for a range of different audiences through my years of teaching experience. My passion is to spread the joy of weaving to others and always to be learning something myself. In my spare time I enjoy playing music, learning crafts and languages.
