What we'll do
We will be hosting a skill share weekend, with the option to camp overnight as a chance to network, share practice or update our skills. This weekend will be organised and run by the OBB committee, but we ask that everyone brings allong their thoughts, ideas and willingness to share and learn from each other. Arrivals from 10.30am on Saturday (activities from 1pm) and finish at 12.00pm on Sunday. There is the option to camp overnight on the Saturday evening. Please bring everything you need for 1 night of comfortable camping. There is a barn in the case of inclement weather during the day, but please dress appropriately for the forecast weather conditions. There will be access to cold running water onsite. To help protect our host site, we are aiming for a ‘leave no trace’ policy for this weekend. We will not be able to provide any rubbish disposal facilities, so when leaving the site on Sunday, please ensure that you take all belongings and rubbish home with you. If you packed it in then please remember to pack it out! We have aimed to keep the cost of the weekend low to try to make it accessible to as many local members as possible. It has been subsidised by the income we generated though our committees hard work, organising and running the national FSA conference in 2021. Once you have booked, we will be sending you details about what you need to bring, a draft itinerary for the weekend and location directions. Please ensure you fill out your emergency contact and medical details in the Eequ booking form. Draft timings Saturday 8th June: 10.30am – arrivals welcomed for setting up tents, games to play, setting up reources swaps 12.30pm lunch - please bring a packed lunch for this. 1.00pm – 5.00pm – round robin of ‘have a go’ experiences/skill shares. 6.30pm – shared community meal around the campfire followed by some gentle entertainments such as a quiz and relaxing around the campfire. Sunday 9th June: 9.00-9.30am – Resources swap and share session 10.00am – choice of morning activity 11.30am – community gathering 12.00pm – finish. Pack up and clear site.
