What we'll do
What better way to spend a day in the holidays than outside in the woods with your friends or making new ones. We spend the whole day outside under the trees with the emphasis on play, this could be in the form of games, Den building , Natural crafts , Tree climbing , Exploring , Inventing , Nature connection or learning new skills like tool use , Fire lighting and campfire cooking. There really is something for everyone. The days will consist of lots of free play , gathering for snack and lunch around the fire circle where the children eat their pack lunch and weather permitting we will have a camp fire and do some cooking together if its toasting marshmallows, making pancakes or just creating our own natural fabric dyes this is a big part of the day. Everyone is ready for dinner and bed at the end of the day as its exhausting work having so much fun !!! We are fully insured and all staff are DBS checked and have undergone safeguarding training and outdoor first aid training.
About your mentor
Kim at Little Trees
Help you connect, explore and achieve
I have been working with children in a classroom setting for 13 years. My love for nature, being outside and working with children drew me to Forest School and in 2018 I qualified as a Level 3 Forest School practitioner. The start of 2022 my real journey began as I branched out and set up Little Trees Forest School and now work in the woods full time. I am passionate about getting children outside to learn though play. We do this by being outside all year around using what nature provides from one season to the next, learning how to look after and respect the environment. The children experience real life skills such as using tools, lighting fires problem solving and are encouraged to take manageable risks in a safe environment under close supervision.
What you'll need
Please send your child with the appropriate clothing for the weather, remember it is cooler under the trees so hats and gloves and lots of socks are a good idea for colder months and Sun hat and suncream for hotter months. Lots of layers are best , base trousers and long sleeved top and Jumper even in the summer! Coat and waterproof trousers, walking boots or sturdy shoes. Long hair will need to be tied up for safety Change of clothes for younger children. * LUNCH * Please pack enough Lunch and Drinks for the day We dont provide lunch, but we will be doing some cooking on the fire and a small snack will be available. (Weather permitting) Hot and cold drinks will be available. Please can I ask that you be mindful as we have a no PEANUTS Policy.

When you arrive
Our setting is on the wonderful Glevering Estate but not up at the hall so please look for the ‘Little Trees Forest School’ signs Ip13 0dh Our site can be a little bit hard to find the first time What 3 words link below should take to the the loge. https://w3w.co/sending.reply.denim The entrance to the site is up a driveway next to a lodge, keep to the right of the drive and parking will be on your right up the hill. Please be aware not to go up to the barn and keep out of the coned off areas as this isn’t part of Forest School. If you still can't find us please give me a call on 07739 390051 and I'll do my best talk you in. If you can bring your children up the path ( follow the signs ) and wait at the entrance of the forest for me to greet you, This way the children can get busy and not have to wait around near the carpark. Also i do offer an early drop off at 9am for an extra £5 per person per day. If this is something you are interesting in pleases let me know. If you are going to be late please don't worry but could you please give me a quick phone call so I know and don't keep all the other children waiting unnecessarily.
