The Boar Oak Project Invites you to celebrate the Spring Equinox at our Volunteer Action Camp A FESTIVAL OF BALANCE & AWAKENING ~ WHEN DAY AND NIGHT ARE AT EQUAL LENGTH Work days ~ Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th March 2024 Work hours 10 - 4pm Arrival ~ from Friday 22nd, 3PM ~ Finish 8PM on Sunday Join Simon to celebrate the Spring Quarter point Celtic festival within an ancient woodland. Immerse yourself in rural crafts, practical tasks, fire, hearth, singing and feasting while camping on a real Iron Age Fort from the native Celtic tribe. In West Sussex (near Forest Row) Volunteer roles ‣ Chef & assistant ‣ Task workers Email for questions or to secure a place ~ ironagesmith@gmail.com Tasks we will be working on are: » Dead hedging, creating wildlife habitat » Draw knife bark peeling green timber There may also be: Evening Hearth, Singing, Sharing circle. >>> Contribution £26 - £32 per adult and £16 - 21 per child (over 10 years old) based on what you can afford. - Includes food & firewood and free camping. (Free entry for the chef and team leaders) *** No refunds can be given however if you cancel over 7 days before the event, you may have your booking credited to the next event. *** There is always a strong hearth burning to warm yourself by. You are welcome to come for the whole weekend or just for the day, as long as you come early enough to join for the whole day. >>> Kit you Need to Bring ‣ If staying - a tent, bed roll and sleeping bag plus personal hygiene supplies (wash gear & towel) ‣ Casual work clothes including work boots, waterproofs + warm clothes & hot water bottle. ‣ Snacks & any extra needs (special food diets) + plate, bowl, mug and cutlery. ‣ There is a basic compost loo on site.
