A summary

The course includes 4 evening theory sessions and usually 3 hive visits at a member’s apiary. You will be invited to handle bees with protective equipment available to borrow for the sessions. A beekeeping book is included in the course fee which will be published in the autumn. Couples from the same household will each receive a different book. Details of the breakdown of the course will be posted on the website in the autumn and full payment will be required when booking to secure a place. The course is very popular and is usually fully booked by Christmas. We look forward to welcoming you.

Stowmarket and District Beekeeper Association has been around for 75 years. We are promoting this wonderful and rewarding activity of beekeeping to novices and long-standing beekeepers alike. Regular teaching events are scheduled throughout the year and an annually training course for new beekeepers.
