A summary
Forest school communities are in contact with the natural world and in so being have a unique opportunity to nurture a deeper relationship through its materials. Through child-led exploration and discovery it is possible to support a rich assemblage of moments through cra<ing. In working with natural materials we are influenced by their qualities, entering into interesting new assemblages. This workshop will explore how craft, enskillment and materials combine to create immersive and responsive relationships with the natural world.
About your mentors
Paul Moseley
Plays with sticks for a living.
I have been leading programmes since becoming a forest school prac//oner in 2007. Since 2009 I have been a qualified trainer and have been fortunate to mentor thousands of practitioners both in the UK and internationally. Presently I am completing a Master's degree, before continuing onto a doctorate, focusing on kinship, natural crafts and place-responsive practice in regard to forest school communities. A lot of my work is as an ethnoecology consultant, advising organisations on their practice in relation to nature connection at a community/regional level. In 2019 I founded a non-profit through which I run forest school and outdoor play practitioner training and bushcraft workshops/courses www.exploreournature.com
