Hive Summer Club

Hastings Community Hive

A summary
The spaces for our Summer Club are only given at our discretion and are offered to current/previous attendees before we accept any new bookings from any new attendees.
As a universal SEND/Neurodiverse high needs group we are not be able to offer as many spaces as we previously have due to less funding meaning less allocated spaces and to ensure we can maintain the safety of all the attendees coming and we will be trying to even it out offering equal spaces to both boys and girls. We have a HUGE waiting list and we cannot guarantee any spaces and we have to ensure we accept bookings from children that can meet the expectations at our group and that most of all we can meet their needs.
On arrival each child will be ticked in and registered and we will ask them to wear a name sticker. Any medications, medicines, Inhalers etc will be signed in and we ask you to ensure you bring LABELLED items in with the child's name on if it is required throughout the day.
Each child will be given time to settle in and everyone is always very welcoming. If your child has any additional needs of any kind please do inform us so we can ensure we can cater to their needs and ensure their time with us is comfortable and enjoyable.
Each session will consist of- social time and activities, educational learning and fun, Indoor and outdoor activities and movement, lunch, snack time and craft time. We have access to outdoor space as well.
Every day will include some indoor and outdoor activities in all weathers so please please ensure you bring your child a spare change of clothes as they may get wet and muddy in the morning and we do not want them to sit in wet clothes and we cannot cater for this. If possible pack some waterproofs would be the best idea and a change of clothes a we know what the weather likes to be unpredictable.
We will offer snacks and drinks throughout the day, fresh fruit, a biscuit, water or milk and we will bake and make most days, children can bring their own snacks but please do not bring in lunch unless there are specific dietary requirements as being involved in making lunch and learning about healthy eating we feel is important for the children.
WE DO NOT ALLOW SWEETS / CHOCOLATE BARS / FIZZY DRINKS / ENERGY DRINKS / ANY FOOD WITH NUTS OR SEEDS IN.
Any other snack we allow and we will provide treats and goodies as part of the fun but only with Parents Permission beforehand.
*** This activity has been funded through the Department for Education’s (DfE) Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) programme and coordinated by East Sussex County Council.
