A summary
OVERVIEW 5 Day Canoe & Wild Camping Expedition: You do not need any prior canoeing or camping experience for this trip, however a reasonable level of fitness and resilience will be required, as The Great Glen Canoe Expedition can be physically demanding, and the Scottish weather can also be unpredictable. Paddling tandem, we will start at Fort William and finish at the end of Loch Ness. This five day Expedition will cover 85Km of Scotlands beautiful landscape. Travelling tandem in open canoes you and will fully immerse yourselves into the adventure ahead - paddling during the day and wild camping at night! Throughout the 5 days you will develop your expedition and wilderness travel skills supported by our qualified and highly experienced coach(s). We will teach you how to get the best out of your canoe, including using your new skills for a day on the river Oich (Please note the river section of this trip is dependant on a number of factors and will be used at the discretion of your coach). Each evening, once on dry land at our scenic camp locations, we will come together to prepare and devour our well earned meals around the camp fire (Camp fires are subject to location and environmental considerations). The evenings provide a great opportunity to further develop our expedition skills, discuss the day, plan for the following day and make the most of the social side of canoe expeditions. FOOD, DRINK & CAMP... This is a self catering expedition, you will need your own food & drink along with bowls, plates and cutlery for the week. Cooking stove and gas can be supplied for a small fee. About your mentor
c2c-Outdoors
...life is about creating positive attitudes!
I am an avid outdoorsman who personally enjoys most, if not all, outdoor activities/adventure. My passion for the outdoors started when I was introduced to Snowboarding in the Alps, I was hooked. From that moment I sought-out as much outdoor adventure as I could, I started Rock-Climbing with a club, tried Canoeing & Kayaking with friends I met, took myself on Mountain Walks and signed up to lessons in wake boarding and windsurfing to name a few. It wasn’t too long before I knew that the outdoors was my passion in life.
