What we'll do
Our visiting tutor on this course will be Daniel of Cultivating Curiosity. He is known to many of our kids for his down-to-Earth, kind energy. We will start with spoon carving. Then Daniel will share with us from his wealth of skills: manipulating wood for creativity and using it for practical purposes. This course will focus on manual dexterity and getting a feel for working with hand tools rather than power tools, although the opportunity may well arise if the task demands it.
About your mentor
Hannah Bone
Craft
I love crafts; finding the balance between planning and allowing creative flow. I have a degree in fine art from Winchester School of Art. After college, I worked on photographic and film shoots. Over the years I developed an interest in sustainability, gaining a variety of skills, more recently turning my hand to making off-grid structures from canvas and wood for nature-based living. It is my pleasure to facilitate the exploration of different materials with students..
