The internet revolution has brought a wild array of new opportunities for young people to learn, grow, and develop in their own unique ways. However, with this great opportunity has come a variety of risks that currently aren't well understood or communicated.
In this single-session course we'll cover some less understood, but no less serious, security risks young people face online, and how they can protect themselves without sacrificing their online freedom and potential.
Important areas we'll cover will include:
- Anonymity, and people not being who they say they are
- File permanence on social media, including safe-feeling apps like SnapChat
- Common tricks and scams designed to target young people
There will also be an opportunity for questions as to general digital security and safety for all involved.
