A summary

Charlotte’s Wood may be small, but it thrives thanks to the care and attention of a supportive community. From time to time, we host Woodland Working Parties to help with gentle seasonal tasks that keep the space safe, welcoming and full of life. These relaxed sessions might include light pruning, pathway care or general tidying – all at a gentle pace and suitable for all abilities. They’re generally aimed at adults and are a lovely way to get active, meet others and spend meaningful time in nature. Refreshments are provided, and it’s completely free to take part. Whether you're looking to give something back, enjoy the outdoors or simply connect with others, you’re very welcome to join us. If no dates are displayed, please register your interest and we will be in touch when help is needed.

About your mentor

Charlotte Atkinson

Charlotte has over 25 years’ experience of working with children, schools and families as a primary school teacher, headteacher, educational consultant, Forest School Leader and trainer. She is a qualified Level 3 Forest School practitioner with over 10 years' experience of leading Forest School sessions with children aged 2-11 years. Charlotte is a Forest School Association (FSA) endorsed trainer and trainer assessor. In addition to her Forest School expertise Charlotte is a qualified Forest Bathing guide, offers nature-based coaching and wellbeing sessions and is a Nordic Walking instructor; which are testament to her love of the outdoors!

Session information

* The session will take place at Charlotte’s Wood in Wilby. The address is Sundial Cottage, London City Road, Wilby, IP21 5LT. There is limited parking at the venue so if possible, please park at Wilby Coronation Hall, on London City Road (IP21 5LE) and then walk 400m up London City Road (away from the village). We are on the left, just past ‘The Shingles’. There is a pair of mirrors opposite the entrance. * The session will start at 1pm. I will meet you at the entrance to the woodland. We will have a break mid-afternoon and finish around 4pm. * Please ensure that you are appropriately clothed for the session with warm layers, waterproofs if it's wet and sturdy shoes or boots. I will provide rigger gloves and hard hats if needed. * I will provide any tools needed. * I will provide refreshments for you. Please let me know (by sending a message through Eequ) if you have any dietary requirements. You may wish to bring water with you and your own mug. * If you are unable to attend the session, please cancel using Eequ.
