What we'll do
Fed up of rising fuel costs and nowhere to park? An eco-friendly e-bike could be the answer. Reduce your carbon footprint without having to huff and puff up the hills – take our course and build an e-bike. You’ll be guided every step of the way by an experienced e-bike mechanic to build your own electric bike. Learn how each component works so you can maintain your custom creation. Once you understand how your bike works, you can perform the simple maintenance tasks that keep it running safely. It will ensure that your purchase lasts you for years. For less than the price of a standard, ready-made e-bike, you will produce a superior build. You’ll learn how to fix common problems that can occur with everyday wear and tear. Bikes bought from retail stores often need to be taken back to the dealer to diagnose faults, which can be expensive. We teach you how to do that for yourself. Our course is accessible for all; no prior knowledge is necessary. If you can hold a spanner, together we can build an e-bike! To keep your strength up, we even include a home-made light afternoon tea. Be sure to tell us if you have any special dietary requirements. To finish off your day, we’ll take our bikes on a short trouble-shooting test ride along the beautiful Bexhill seafront.
About your mentor
Darshan @ Ebike Repairs
Building a greener future one ebike at a time
I trained as an electrician, but soon realised that building and repairing electric bikes was what truly inspired me. I bought my first e-bike from a scrapyard at the age of 14. It was mangled and greasy (my parents loved that in their kitchen!) but I got it working. Even now, I still love the challenge of taking something that is broken and giving it a new lease of life. I’m proud to be young and self-employed. Being part of the electric vehicle revolution is important to me and I enjoy helping others who share my vision of a greener planet for future generations.
