A summary
A 6 week group for parents/carers and their children held in our private woods, walking distance from Cowden train station. Come and join a friendly group to share stories, gratitude, woodland play, sensory expansion, fire tending, bushcraft skills and nature connection exploration. We also aim to create a safe space where everyone can listen to each other and be heard. We will make snacks and hot drinks on the fire for everyone. Come shake off the cobwebs from school/nursery/work, enjoy the glorious woods and explore the darkness as the year turns. We invite you to join us to build your village of support for your children and yourselves. Please wear warm, weather appropriate clothing and footwear and bring your curiosity and kindness as well as a cup if you prefer not to use ours. Financial exchange is to cover firewood and ingredients, this is not a business, just a mama manifesting what she needs. Tickets are per adult, bring as many kids as you like! Parking, shelter and compost toilets available onsite.
About your mentor
Wyld Mama
Mother and woodland guardian
Dora has lit and tended mothers fires for the last 5 years, supporting mothers on their journey into motherhood and connection. She continues to participate in the mothers fire community as well as ongoing discovery through her own journey. She has also led outdoor residential camps for children (6-18 years) for over 20 years with an outdoor education charity called Forest School Camps. Through which she has cultivated many outdoor skills including open fire cooking, woodcraft skills, tending group dynamics, expedition leadership, group singing, ceremony facilitation and much joy! Her formal education includes a degree in ecology with a focus on the less tangible ecosystem services of inspiration, motivation, solace and relationship. During her degree she also participated in a 4 month natural history field quarter in California, in part delivered through Jon Young's approach to teachings, where she fell in love with life again through deep nature immersion and community connection. She has an ongoing mentorship with a Lakota healing medicine lineage and support from its global community, which is developing her spiritual and interspecies communication. Her experiences with the tools of connection from this lineage has re shaped her world view towards one of interconnection, hope and the possibility of consciously co creating the future.
