A summary
VERTEX / SOAR is our Senior contemporary dance group aimed at channelling young energy into inspiring creativity, confidence and focus. Joining VERTEX / SOAR will have your child twisting, sliding, and leaping in an exploration of dance and movement. All are capped off with creative tasks that will unlock their creative genius in a fun supportive environment. VERTEX / SOAR will inspire your child to unleash their creativity as they explore movement and discover what it means to make and perform choreography in a fun and safe environment.

Big Jumps, Bigger passion for developing curiosity
AJ, the captain of Ascension, is a warm character who loves to see people find their purpose and passion. He the driving force behind the company and loves to see people light in when participating in any of Ascension's movement-based sessions. He's a keen creative, whether is developing new movements, project ideas or themes of choreography and will be a huge fan of anybody who is authentically themselves and is brave with trying new things. Come a join a session to witness this cheerleading in person.
Ben Morley
The shining light of Ascension!
Ben is the lead workshop leader within Ascension with over 10 years of experience teaching dance and movement workshops to children and young people of all ages. With a keen eye for creative ways to support learning, Ben is passionate about enabling young people to build confidence and discover their own potential. He's always got a new game or fun activity to inspire a room and make people laugh. Come and see for yourself!!

What shall I wear?
All new participants will be eligible for a complimentary Ascension Dance T-shirt. This is to be worn to all Ascension Youth sessions. In addition to this, please ensure that you wear comfortable attire so your young person can move in. Although we will aim to get everybody moving as soon as possible, the space can sometimes get chilly when listening to instruction, so we recommend bringing a hoodie or jumper We do not recommend wearing your best clothes as we may be climbing, rolling and sliding across surfaces that may scuff clothing. Footwear - Please make sure your young person is wearing trainers or active wear shoes with good cushioning and toe flexion. When teaching material to young people, we work barefoot but on occasion, we will use set and dance on objects that require supported footwear.
