A summary
A 1-day workshop that includes games, dance movement and creative tasks in the lead up to an end-of-workshop performance for friends and family. Learn movements from an Ascension Dance Artist before being given the opportunity to creative you own sequences with other young people in the workshop. Get creative, challenge focus and feel supported in 1 day of fun high-energy movement. Share the outcomes for your friends and family, demonstrating the potential of Coventry's young people.

Company Director
AJ is a warm character who enjoys seeing people find their purpose. He's the driving force behind the company and loves to see people participating in any movement-based sessions. He's a keen creative, whether it's developing new movements, project ideas or themes of choreography! He will be a huge fan of anybody who is authentically themselves and is brave with trying new things. Come and join a session to witness this support in person.

AJ, Company Director of Ascension, is a warm and energising presence, always seeking new ways to get people moving and to share the joy he discovered in movement as a young person. He thrives on seeing someone achieve something they once thought impossible and is excited to support new participants as they discover their own potential through Ascension workshops.
Ben Morley
Empowerning people through dance and movement
Ascension Dance Company, founded in 2017 by company directors Ashley Jordan and Ben Morley, produces high-quality contemporary dance work. Its focus is on fusing contemporary movement with movement from physical dance forms and movement styles such as parkour.

Club Description Jump, slide and soar around with Ascension Dance as we develop confidence and performance skills. What food is provided? A healthy, hot main meal and desert will be provided for each day of the workshop provided by Nor Aziz / Burning Plough LTD. What provision is there for Children with SEND? We strive to make our workshops inclusive and accessible for all young people with our artist understanding how to manage a range of ability levels. Adaptations to the session are able to facilitated during the workshop to support this. Please note, our activities will be very physical in nature as outlined in the description. What should children bring and what should they wear? Children should arrive in comfortable clothing that they are able to move in (i.e. leggings/joggers and a t-shirt) and trainers. Sensible footwear is a necessity when working on set equipment, so do make sure you bring or arrive in trainers for the full workshop. They should wear lots of layers so that they're able to keep warm and bring a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day. Contact details for Parents.
