What we'll doJoin me, a professional artist, (GCSE/A-Level/Degree) teacher/Tutor and therapist for an actively creative week of art.
Sometimes it is hard for teens to find the opportunity to explore and strengthen their art skills during the summer holidays and this can lead to trepidation and lower confidence as September approaches. This workshop is an ideal format to provide focus and support in a relaxing, fun and creative setting.
I've often found that people need an interested party and someone to bounce ideas off, a large space to work and materials all readily to hand. Dedicated uninterrupted time to create without distractions in a safe space with an experienced encouraging person to help kick start creative processes.
Young people may wish to use this time to prepare for their future or current studies, be it academic, educational, or therapeutic. This week would also serve as a wonderful antidote to a heavily academic study path. You don't need to be an art student to attend.
There will be various materials available, such as watercolour, acrylics, drawing materials and paper both large, and small. Printing inks, Indian Inks. The focus is on self development and explorative art.
You may have a theme already in mind for school work, as this week would support your studies. I'd encourage you to bring any work already started or images you'd like to work from or just come with an open mind to explore a new body of work.
Enjoy the company of other young people passionate about the arts in a relaxing setting.
At the end of this week you will have tried various drawing approaches and learnt how to develop a themed body of work, with the knowledge that art can be anything and mistakes can be developed into exciting outcomes especially with the inclusion of mixed media. My practice supports self exploration, in letting go of expectations to uncover new potential, offering ways to sketch fearlessly and encouraging expressive approaches. You'll take home all your studies, pride in your accomplishments and an inspiration to continue your practice!
Please get in touch if you have any questions.
