A summary
We will be working with natural materials which nurture the senses and provide a wonderful holistic learning experience where crafters are supported to rebalance and relax. Each activity suitable for all abilities will take us on a seasonal journey of acquiring new skills and appreciation for different crafting and making techniques. Katherine is a graduate of the Holistic Baby and Childcare EYE Level 3 Dip training course and has run parent and child groups in Forest Row for several years alongside working as a mixed media artist. Katherine is inspired by Steiner Waldorf pedagogy, nurturing creativity, nature connection and crafting which is reflected in the projects chosen for this group. Creative activity has been proven to reduce stress, regulate emotions and improve our sense of wellbeing, regardless of your skill level! This is a space designed to welcome everyone and every ability. Katherine has a wealth of creative knowledge to share and inspire you with.
About your mentor
Katherine Small
Mother, artist and group facilitator
I am a mother, artist and early years practitioner working to support families with younger children. My work is inspired by Waldorf and Pikler principles of rhythmic living and respectful care.  I'm passionate about sharing creative practice and creating simple but beautiful projects that nourish our need to mindfully use our head, heart and hands.
What we'll do
Over the four week block I will guide you to make a beautiful hand crafted season tree created from natural materials which are carefully chosen to provide a nourishing and mindful experience. This project will provide the perfect opportunity to learn the craft of needle felting and to further existing skills. Each session will include time to relax with a cup of tea or coffee along with an invitation to share conversation in a gentle and supportive circle, including seasonal reflections and inspirations.
