The Ways of The Wild
Women of the woods ?
Ways of the Wild's mission is to reconnect city folk with nature through events and workshops. We are based in London, conjuring up adventures for adults, children and our wonderful WotW community throughout the year, all the whilst addressing unequal access to outdoor education and exploration in cities. Ways of the Wild is a three-woman-strong enterprise. Esme and Zhanina (also known as Jay) met under the canopy of trees. This is where they bonded over the joy of nature and outdoor learning in the early years setting and decided to create Ways of the Wild. After helping out on numerous occasions, Katie, another forest friend, was soon invited too, completing the WotW core team. Meet Jay (Zhanina) , known for her love of the outdoors since childhood. With a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Studies, she holds Level 3 certifications in Forest School, Bushcraft, and Safeguarding. DBS checked and equipped with pediatric first aid, Jay channels over six years of experience into outdoor learning programs. Her passion for nature and conservation shines through, creating an immersive experience for young minds in our holiday camps and forest school sessions. Explore the world of outdoor learning with Jay, where every adventure is a lesson in passion and connection with the great outdoors. Esme is a dynamic event producer, dedicated to creating impactful experiences for mental health and environmental charities. A children's author, a dancer and Forest School Level 3 leader with expertise in Bushcraft, she seamlessly blends creativity and nature education. Esme's commitment to safety is evident through her Paediatric First Aid and DBS certifications. With a background in festival and film sustainability, she has made significant contributions to renowned industries, collaborating with names like Netflix and Festival Republic. Esme is a versatile professional, weaving together her diverse skills to leave a positive mark on individuals and the world. Meet Katie, the newest member of Ways of the Wild. Dancer, artist and nature nerd; Katie moved to the city with three years of experience working for a reforestation project, a Bachelor's in Fine Art and a passion for facilitating nature reconnection. She holds a Level 3 qualification in Foraging, is DBS checked, is a qualified Paediatric First Aider and is currently studying her Level 3 Forest School qualification (yay!). She loves sharing knowledge of the natural world, rekindling our collective roots, and spending as much time outside, dancing, singing, and celebrating this wonderful world we live in. You'll find her working behind the scenes as well as moving and grooving in the forest. Check out our website, www.waysofthewilduk.com to see what we do!
