What we'll do
Visit our animal residents at the Animal Education Centre this Summer! Our exciting Zoo Crafts sessions bring the wonder of the zoo to life through a beautiful mix of stories, crafts, and imaginative play. From themed adventures to nature crafts, there is plenty to discover on our exclusive keeper-led walk around the site. It’s a fun, creative adventure for young children and their grown-ups to enjoy together. Perfect for ages 4 to 16. Week 1: Nature Artists Cease the opportunity to design your own beautiful creations using natural materials. Explore the local area looking for interesting natural resources and use them to help create a variety of fascinating pieces of natural art. Week 2: Nature Explorers Design your own explorer storage box, then investigate the area looking for items to complete the nature search challenge- will you become a successful nature explorer? Week 3: Nature Painters Design and create your own paintings using only items found in nature- How creative can you be? Explore the area looking for natural items and then develop your painting skills whilst practicing different styles and techniques. Week 4: Magic in Nature Explore the magical hidden wonders of our natural world- through artefacts and resources- what fascinating, magical discoveries can you find? Complete your own magical nature book, to showcase your findings. Week 5: Imagination Creators The sky is the limit as you use a variety of crafting resources- alongside reusable and recyclable items- to design your own fantastic craft creations. Let your imagination fly. • A free healthy lunch is provided for participants, thanks to the Healthy Holidays Activities and Food Programme. For any specific SEND requirements please email towardsanactivehull@hcandl.co.uk All child places for this session are to be accompanied by an adult. Children should not be left unattended at any of theses sessions.

These activities are funded through Hull City Council and the Department for Education as part of the Holiday Activities and Food programme (HAF).
