Willow Bird Feeders block mentored by Bushcraft PPG
A summary
Willow weaving is a traditional craft for creating functional and decorative items using flexible willow rods. It involves soaking and preparing the willow, then using weaving techniques like pairing or slewing to form sculptures. The process can be done with either freshly cut or dried willow that's been soaked to regain pliability. You'll be introduced to the materials and tools required and then be guided through the process to make your own willow feeder. You'll come away with the satisfaction of having created a willow item that is beautiful, decorative and unique!
