A SUMMARY
Our Wild child days are now available all summer. Project Rewild's woodland days are the perfect way to let your children play free an be wild outdoors!! Our hugely popular Woodland days have been offering children nature led learning and play experiences for the last 6 years. Our days are led by our experienced and skilled rewild mentors. The days will include a range of nature based activities, games and crafts all designed to help children have fun, connect with nature, make friends, play free and be wild, Activities may include: - Nature based games and play - Foraging and campfire cooking - Wood craft skills and tool use - Bushcraft and survival skills - Wild Archery - Ropework: swings, tree ropes, nets, hammocks and slat lines - Music, storytelling, singing and traditional seasonal celebrations - Tribal experiences: Experiential learning about and from native cultures around the world - Nature based art - Sensory nature connection experiences - Nature based learning: learn more about the natural world around us - Conservation and sustainability: Learning how to love and look after our natural world - Lots of muddy adventures and play I highly recommend sending your children to sessions run by Project Rewild. They give local children the most amazing outdoor experiences, where they learn new skills, knowledge and develop friendships. Luke and his team are fantastic at providing so many activities and both my children thoroughly enjoy each and every one they attend. I feel happy knowing my children will be looked after and will come away with skills I could never teach them! BEFORE BOOKING At Project Rewild we work in outdoor wild spaces, which means there are some natural limitations to the level of individual support we can safely provide. To ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children, we ask parents/carers to contact us before booking if their child: • Has displayed significant behavioural difficulties in school or group settings that may require additional adult support. • Has learning disabilities that may require a higher staff ratio or one-to-one support. • Has a physical disability that may require additional support to access the woodland environment safely. • Requires assistance with personal care (e.g. using the toilet or managing personal hygiene). We are not insured to help assist with personal hygiene. • Requires medication to be administered by an adult during the session. Health and illness • Children should not attend if they are unwell with an infectious illness. • If your child has experienced sickness or diarrhea, they must be clear of symptoms for at least 72 hours before attending. Unfortunately, we do not have the staff ratios to provide one-to-one care. Where children need this level of support, please contact us to discuss whether reasonable adjustments can be made. Jo - Parent “Project Rewild are amazing at what they do , my kids are loving connecting with nature and feeling part of a tribe. There are so many “forest schools” out there nowadays, but this is so much more than that , it’s about genuinely connecting with the earth and others. We are so lucky that we discovered Rewilding” Nicky - Parent This is an amazing group! My children absolutely love going and have loads of fun outside! They particularly love building camp fires and making different crafts and all the games on offer! The leaders are so friendly and care for the children well! I would highly recommend Project re wild to anyone! Carley - Parent My 9 year old absolutely loves the activities and has such a good time. Luke and his team are brilliant. I know I am leaving him in safe hands and he comes home happy and stimulated by the time spent with Project Rewild. Donna - Parent These days are very popular and book up fast.
About your mentor
Project Rewild
Rewilding children, families & communities
Project Rewild CIC is a community of passionate mentors dedicated to helping people, especially children, reconnect with the natural world. Founded and led by local father and skilled outdoor educator Luke Funnell, Project Rewild was born out of a belief that everyone should be able to spend time in nature, regardless of background, location, or finances. We are all part of nature, and it is everyone’s birthright to be shown this. Our work is about rewilding childhood, giving children the space, freedom, and encouragement to play, explore, and grow in the wild places around them. Our team brings together experienced forest school leaders, ecologists, youth workers, storytellers, and craftspeople, all united by a shared love for the land and a passion for inspiring curiosity and confidence through outdoor play. Together, we create safe, welcoming spaces where children can discover the joy of belonging to nature. Through these experiences, we nurture resilience, imagination, and a lasting connection to the natural world, creating emotional bonds that last a lifetime, and a deep desire to love, care for, and protect our planet.
