A summary
Join us for Unleash Your Creativity (UYC) – an inspiring after-school music and creativity programme at Heath Park Community Centre, Rusholme Ave, Dagenham RM10 7PR. Over 30+ exciting weeks, young people will explore songwriting, rap lyric writing, creative storytelling and live performance. It’s all about self-expression, confidence, and imagination, in a relaxed, supportive space where everyone’s voice matters. This isn’t just about taking part. It’s about growing. Young people work together, share ideas, and build each other up. As they develop, there are opportunities to take on more responsibility, support others, and step into creative mentor roles. Everyone brings something different, and together we level up. Workshops run every Tuesday and Wednesday, 4:00 to 6:00pm, starting 20 January and running through to 19 August 2026. To make things easier after school, each session includes a hot meal, fruit, healthy snacks, and refreshments, so young people can arrive, refuel, and get straight into creating. Who can join? We’re offering 20 fully funded places, available on a first-come, first-served basis. These cover all sessions and food for the full programme. If your child is not eligible for a free place, they are still very welcome to join at £6 per session. Please get in touch before making a payment, as free places sometimes become available due to cancellations or changes. We also offer a Pay What You Can option to support families on lower incomes. All prices include food, and there are no hidden costs. Thinking of supporting True Cadence? True Cadence CIC
Home of Grassroots Music Business Education
True Cadence is a multi-award-winning non-profit music social enterprise based in Barking & Dagenham, and serving the entire East London. We exist for one purpose: to nurture young musical talents from under-resourced communities, providing them with the tools and opportunities to become ‘industry-ready’ professionals in the music industry. As the home of grassroots music business education and non-profit organisation, we work with upcoming artists and aspiring music industry professionals who wish to know how the music industry works. We provide tailored music workshops, mentorship, and a platform for young people to understand the business side of music while building the skills, confidence, and social network they need to access life-changing opportunities in the industry. From promotion to distribution and everything in between, we help them learn the ropes of music management. Our Mission: Our Mission is to unearth the hidden talents of young people in our under-resourced communities through high quality music education. Our Vision: Our Vision is for every young person to express themselves creatively and have the opportunity to make it in the music industry.
FAQ
Who can attend this programme? This programme is open to young people aged 8–11 (Tuesdays) and 12–15 (Wednesdays). You don’t need to have any music experience — just an interest in expressing yourself creatively. Can my child join partway through? Yes! Each session is designed to stand alone, so young people can join at any time without needing to catch up. Regular attendance is encouraged to get the most out of it. Is food provided? Yes – every session includes a light meal and drink, so young people can come straight from school. It’s all included in the session price or funding. What’s the attendance policy? We want to make sure all places are used well. If your child has a funded place or is booked in for the full term, we ask that they attend at least 80% of sessions. Missed sessions without notice may result in a small charge or the place being offered to someone else. What if I can’t pay but don’t have a funded place? Please get in touch. We’ll always try to help where we can, and occasionally have additional spaces available free of charge if others cancel.

Cancellation Policy
We understand that plans can change — here’s how our cancellation policy works: For Paid Sessions: - Cancel at least 7 days before the session and you’ll receive a full refund. - Cancel at least 48 hours before and we’ll issue a partial refund (50%). - Less than 48 hours’ notice unfortunately means we’re unable to offer a refund, as we will have already planned for your child’s place, food and materials. For Funded Places: - If your child has a free funded place, you must cancel at least 48 hours in advance if they can’t attend. - Repeated missed sessions without notice may result in the place being offered to another family on our waiting list. We do our best to be flexible and fair — if something unexpected comes up, please get in touch as soon as possible.

My experience consists of a leisure activity, on a specific date(s), and therefore the 14-day ‘cooling off period’ under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply.
