A summary
Our FAMILY FOREST SCHOOL sessions designed for all ages creates a unique and enriching environment where both children and adults can learn and play together in nature. Following the children's interests with mud kitchen, craft corner, hammocks, secret den and further weekly play invitations.. Our NATURE NURTURES group aims to support new mums with babies up to 1 year old. Whilst the focus is on sharing in a safe supportive space, discussing motherhood challenges and having a warm cuppa and nourishing snack- there will always be a play invitation for the babies present to explore as well. Our OUTDOOR EXPLORERS group focuses on families with children up to 5 years old and through weekly themes allows children to explore and learn in the safe space of our forest school site. A perfect group for parents and children alike to build friendships! Our HOME ED FAMILY FOREST SCHOOL focuses on providing a safe space for up to 8 families. Bookings close after the initial first week/trial week. Costs for the remainder of sessions are then decided based on how many families commit each half term. Led by Becky who alternates craft/woodwork project weeks with campfire cooking weeks. Plenty to explore for all ages up to 13. Benefits of multi age forest school - 1. **Peer Learning and Mentoring**: Younger children learn by observing and imitating older peers, while older children develop leadership skills and patience by guiding the younger ones. 2. **Family Bonding**: Shared experiences in nature strengthen family connections, creating lasting memories and fostering a love for outdoor activities. 3. **Enhanced Social Skills**: Mixed-age groups encourage empathy, communication, and collaboration as children of different ages learn to navigate and work together. 4. **Confidence Building**: Engaging in diverse activities allows children and adults to challenge themselves in a safe, supportive environment, boosting confidence and resilience. 5. **Holistic Development**: Combining nature-based learning with multi-age interactions promotes cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development for all participants. These sessions allow participants of all ages to connect deeply with nature while learning together, making them a perfect way to build a strong, nature-oriented community. About your mentors
Little Squirrels Forest school
Home Ed mama, Steiner teacher, FS leader
I love being out in nature and always find myself satisfyingly tired at the end of a day in the woods. I'm keen to encourage everyone to enjoy outdoor fun and like showing parents how to facilitate individual and independent exploration giving them confidence to support their children. I enjoy incorporating my Steiner early years teaching background filled with songs, craft and story inspiration.
