A summary
The Tigers Holiday Youth Programme provides young people with a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment where they can socialise, make new friends and participate in a wide range of engaging activities. The programme supports the development of confidence, resilience, teamwork and practical life skills while promoting positive physical and mental wellbeing. By offering structured activities during school holidays, it helps reduce anti-social behaviour, encourages positive choices and provides opportunities for personal growth. Young people are empowered to feel valued, supported and connected to their local community, helping to strengthen relationships, increase a sense of belonging and create lasting positive outcomes for their future.

About your mentor
Castleford Tigers Foundation
Committed to supporting our communities
The Castleford Tigers Foundation is the official charitable arm of Castleford Tigers RLFC, based at the iconic Wheldon Road ground, The OneBore Stadium. Deeply connected to both the club and Castleford’s rich heritage, the Foundation draws on nearly a century of rugby league pride to deliver meaningful change across the Five Towns. Castleford’s history stretches back to Roman Britain as Lagentium and later flourished as a mining and industrial hub in West Yorkshire. That strong sense of community endures today, with Castleford Tigers, founded in 1926 remaining a symbol of local pride. The Foundation builds on this legacy by using rugby league to inspire, educate, and empower people of all ages. We work with all ages of our local community, from young children to older generations, offering safe, inclusive opportunities that promote health, learning, and personal growth. We are dedicated to staying connected to our community to tackle health inequalities and strengthen local wellbeing. Our programmes include school-based education sessions, holiday camps, enrichment activities, and Happy Healthy Holidays, which provides free meals and activities for families facing hardship. We also deliver Learning Disability, Physical Disability, and Wheelchair Rugby League teams, alongside the Tigers Paws and Claws cheerleading programme, engaging hundreds of young people in belonging, participation and achievement.
