What we'll do
For those who attempted the Welsh 3000ers in the past, here’s a chance to tick of some of the peaks we weren’t able to do due to the weather! This weekend may not cover all the peaks you missed on your particular journey. But it will be awesome! (Let’s hope the weather doesn’t do it to us again!) This event is also open to anyone else too! You don't have to have been on a previous Welsh 3000ers event to be able to come! This is a two day event, day one we do the almighty Tryfan, towering above the Ogwen valley. Day two is another attempt at the carneddau, 7 of wales’ most remote peaks and maybe see Carneddau ponies. Remember you need to be fit, this is a challenging weekend! You will need a head for heights too on Tryfan. Below is your kit list, you must have everything on this list! Your rucksack should be fitted well to your back, ideally with hip fastening to prevent it wobbling around. It will be very rocky underfoot and some of the paths are uneven, so good supportive footwear is needed with good grip. Walking boots are ideal or trail shoes. NO GYM TRAINERS OR SIMILAR! Kit needed EVERY DAY- Rucksack 25-30 litres Walking boots or trail shoes with good support and grip Comfortable trousers, t shirt Spare t shirt 2 fleece jumpers, one to wear and one for your rucksack Spare socks Waterproof coat Waterproof trousers Hat and gloves Spare gloves A minimum of 2 litres of fluid (water, squash) Sandwiches, snacks (both sugary and salty) Dried fruit, chocolate etc Blister plasters Painkillers Head torch and spare batteries Camera and phone Every day you will need all this kit, so make sure to pack three of everything! (Except footwear and waterproofs)

About your mentor
Jan
Mud, sweat and fun!
My name is Jan Phillips, I am qualified mountain leader, I qualified in 2017 after many years before hiking in North Wales. I used to be a running coach too and had my own running club before the pandemic. I love getting people out in the hills, it is both a great way of keeping fit and blowing away the cobwebs! I grew up on a sheep farm in North Wales and have always loved the great outdoors. My parents were keen hikers too, my first time up Snowdon was at age 8 months in the baby carrier! I also work in the NHS in community dental services specialising in special needs, sedation and urgent care as a dental nurse.
A bit about me! (For those who haven’t met me! )
On Love her Wild events, we always have so much fun! Long lasting friendships have been made. I’m passionate about the outdoors having grown up on a small sheep farm in North Wales. My parents were keen walkers and dragged me out kicking and screaming as a kid many times, but it didn’t take long for me to start appreciating it! Now it’s my hobby, my passion and I love to share it with people! I’m also a personal trainer, spin and kettle bells instructor and a dental nurse in the NHS, working with people with mental health problems, special needs and sedation. (I’ve also been told I’m a bit nuts!)
