What we'll do
Kids love Disney - and so do we adults! And there's nothing more important for the future of our children than the environment, right? At Sing with Disney this Easter, we'll be learning through singing, playing and other activities about how we can better care for the world we live in. All with the help of songs from The Lion King, The Jungle Book and Moana to name a few. We will look at the small ways we can all make a difference - through recycling, planting our own food or nature friendly plants or finding a new use for something old, for example. But the major focus will be on fun and confidence building. Typically a day will begin with warm up games, designed to break the ice and to help everyone get to know each other. We’ll work as a team to learn songs that have a link with being more green and looking after our planet. Other things we''ll do include: - Planting seeds - Holding a 'swap shop' - Walking in the woods to understand the world around us - Going on a bug hunt We’ll stop for lunch, then start the afternoon with lots more fun activities, and finish the day with some final games. We know that we get the best out of young people when they trust one another, and so getting them to work as a team is really important. We pride ourselves on getting our kids and young people to not be afraid to try anything, and to know that it’s OK to make mistakes. This is a central ethos, and helps the group build trust, confidence and friendships fast. Claude loves teaching children and young people to be creative. She is First Aid trained, has an enhanced DBS check in place, and will make sure that attendees are supervised at all times. Soul Voices Jr. Choir is a place for children to have fun and nurture a life-long love of music and singing. Seeing their confidence grow as they learn through music is a joy to witness!
About your mentors
Claude Lovett
Sings, dances and acts (the clown) with kids!
I was a kid who sang before I talked, and I've not stopped since! This was followed by dance lessons from 4 years and 2 stints in the West End in Bugsy Malone and Annie, both incredible experiences that will stay with me forever, and which helped begin my love of acting. I went on in more recent years to go to Boot Camp on X Factor in 2007 and appeared on Stars In Their Eyes as Diana Ross in 2017. I've been teach children to sing for the last 8 years with Lilley Lovett Theatre Group, but have run Soul Voices Junior to bring the joy of singing to children aged 7-11 for the last 18 months. For me there is no greater joy than watching children's confidence grow as they perform with their friends. I'm passionate about teaching children not to be afraid to make mistakes, to work as a team and respect each other. The results are awe inspiring, and now I finally have my dream job.
