A summary
Summer holiday fun: Our Active Hastings and Break Point Tennis sessions are designed specifically for children aged 10 to 14, who have little to no playing experience in the sport. During the sessions participants will be introduced to the fundamental skills, techniques, and rules of tennis in a fun and supportive environment. The sessions aim to foster a love for tennis while helping participants develop the necessary skills to enjoy playing tennis recreationally or potentially pursue it further. The sessions will include basic fundamentals, building skills, developing technique and match play and strategy. Sliding ticket prices for 2025 We believe everyone should have access to exercise and it shouldn’t be a luxury or privilege. Therefore, to ensure our sessions are accessible to everyone, we are excited to introduce a new sliding ticket system on all our Active Hastings sessions, so you can choose what you can afford to pay. The sliding ticket system will give you the opportunity to choose from three ticket options: £3: Suggested ticket price To support the running costs of the class and to keep the session going £2: A little helping hand Don't let cost be a barrier, have a lower price ticket if you need to Free ticket: Need it on us For people on low income and benefits. Our free ticket option will work on a trust basis, and we hope people who can, will pay for the suggested or little helping hand ticket; leaving the free ticket option for people who need them. Active Hastings
Physical activity sessions for everyone!
Active Hastings is an externally funded partnership project between Hastings Borough Council and East Sussex County Council Public Health. We have been working in partnership since 2006 to give local residents easy, fun ways to get their everyday dose of physical activity. It only takes 150 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity each week for adults and 60 minutes every day for children to benefit your health, both mental and physical. You can even break it down into 10 minute slots! All of our team are experienced sports coaches, fitness instructors and play workers, who are passionate about working with people of all ages in Hastings and St Leonards. We run free or low cost sessions throughout the year, as well as holiday activities as part of the Holiday Activity and Food programme.
