Targeted Youth Services
Join us for lots of fun!
Southend City Council Targeted Youth Service runs 17 youth group sessions across the week from Tuesday to Saturday, all of which are free. Children ages 5-18 or 25 with SEND are able to attend a wide variety of groups across four venues within the City. The groups are broken down into smaller age ranges such as 5-8, 8-11, 8-14, 11-18 etc. We have three SEND specific sessions ages 5-8, 9-16 and 16-25 and two sessions for Young Carers. All of the group sessions are led by qualified youth workers. We offer a range of good quality activities including sports, arts & crafts, music, singing, cookery, life skills and team building games and exercises. Every session has a PSHE theme running through it as well as a fun theme for the day. We offer informal age appropriate PSHE education within our sessions on topics such as finances and budgeting, healthy relationships, sexual health, diet and exercise, drug and alcohol misuse, smoking and vaping cessation. We work with external agencies to support this work such as Open Road, Brook, Safer Places, Police. We arrange for different services visiting our youth work sessions to talk to the children about a wide range of careers and topics such as RNLI, RSPB and the Police. During the Easter, Summer and Christmas school holidays we run the HAF (Holiday Activities & Food) programme; daytime youth work sessions which includes a two course hot meal with a drink, fruit and vegetables for each child who attends. We run trips and different activities and to date we have enjoyed Nerf Wars, Snakes Alive animal experience, mural artists, Caddies Indoor Golf, Adventure Island Theme Park and Belchamps Scouting Activities Centre among others. At Christmas we put on a Christmas Disco with an entertainer and a buffet. Join us for HAF this summer and then come along to our youth groups which start up again in September.

Cancellation Policy
Free bookings do not require refunds but as places are limited, please cancel if you cannot attend so that your place can be offered to someone else.If your child does not attend sessions without cancellation they will not be permitted to attend the Friday trip for that week.

My experience consists of a leisure activity, on a specific date(s), and therefore the 14-day ‘cooling off period’ under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply.
