A summary
This Summer invites families with one or more children with additional support needs to take part in this year's artist-led sessions in a safe, supported, and creative environment. Get involved with accessible making and activities led by artist Daisy Stewart-Darling. We'll explore multi-sensory and accessible routes into themes and materials around the ecology of East Sussex, food, social engagement and familial and social bonds that develop through creative making, play and exploration. Our sessions are non-outcome focused; we encourage a child-led approach to exploration, supporting them to interpret themes in a way that works for them. Support staff are happy to adapt activities to the needs and interests of participants for a more enriching experience. We encourage caregivers to join the session to share in the creative making with their dependants. You can book a lunch (12.00 - 2.00pm) or teatime (4.00 - 6.00pm) slot. Numbers are capped at 10 young people per session (exc. caregivers).

Mollie - Learning Curator at Towner
Towner Eastbourne are developing a six-week, creative programme of artist-led workshops alongside food provision. Taking over the ground-floor studio spaces. We'll host a total of seven sessions for SEND families in receipt of free school meals throughout the summer holidays. Children can join us at any point in the creative process to make independent or collaborative work and even display it in our studio spaces over the Summer 2025. For more information on our learning programmes please visit our websites or get in touch! About the Lead Artist, Daisy Stewart-Darling: Daisy Stewart-Darling (she/her) is a multidisciplinary artist based in the UK, working primarily with sound and print. Her practice centres on accessible sound art installations that explore sound ecology in relation to climate justice, often blending field recordings, interactive formats, and community engagement. Working under the pseudonym Daisy Does Lino, Daisy is a self-taught linocut printmaker whose visual work intersects with her sonic explorations. Recent projects have involved using linoleum both as a visual element and as a physical interface for sound, drawing attention to its ecological production and material history. She has exhibited in multiple group shows at Electro Studios Project Space (2021-2024, St Leonards-on-Sea) and De La Warr Pavilion Lates (2023, Bexhill), and was selected for the 2024 Artist in Residence with The Living Coast UNESCO Biosphere in Brighton. Alongside her installation practice, Daisy has run mindful printmaking workshops within her Hastings home community and composes experimental sound pieces from field recordings gathered during walks and nature explorations.
