Guiding Young Minds Outreach empowers young people from underserved communities through hands‑on workshops in digital literacy, critical thinking, and socio‑emotional learning; sustained mentorship and career coaching; project‑based learning opportunities that build leadership and real‑world skills; and dedicated supports for access and wellbeing (scholarships, transport stipends, and mental‑health referrals). We partner with schools, NGOs, employers, and volunteers to deliver high‑quality, inclusive programs that boost academic engagement, career readiness, and community impact — tracking outcomes with measurable KPIs and continually refining our approach through participant feedback and rigorous evaluation.

Guiding Young Minds
Helping to make a difference
Guiding Young Minds (GYM) grew and developed from the charity ASSIST Trauma Care; a specialist therapeutic organisation dedicated to supporting people who have suffered psychological trauma. GYM is at heart therapeutic service which recognises that young people caught up in gangs and knife crime have often experienced adverse childhood events.
Special Guest
( 5th August only) meet and greet - Hailing from Stoke Aldermoor, Coventry Poet Laureate John Bernard is a spoken word performer of East African heritage. John is a passionate poet who tackles social issues faced by young people in his community through his powerful Spoken Word Poetry. With a compelling blend of personal experiences and insights, he has become a resonant voice for the youth in his city. Through his unwavering dedication to his craft, John Bernard continues to make a profound impact as a poet. His voice raises awareness, sparks conversations, and instigates positive change in society. With an impressive portfolio spanning poetry, theatre, and event commissions, John’s writing exemplifies creativity, versatility, and the ability to connect with diverse audiences. He has showcased his poetic talent by crafting compelling verses for brands and organisations such as Ferrari, Amazon, Formula 1, City of Culture, BBC, Herbert Art Gallery, Warwick University, Coventry University, Virgin London Marathon and Apples and Snakes. (26th August only) Red corner Coach -Wish- Boxing session Taster Owner / head coach Red corner gym Red corner school of boxing. Over 25 years boxing experience. 14 years military service Including tours of Iraq and Afghanistan. Reaching rank of sergeant l. National finalist. Over 80 amatuer boxing bouts.
