A summary
This summer, GCF & Skilful Network are teaming up to deliver an unforgettable experience for children aged 7–16 combining hands-on learning with exciting activities. From thrilling outdoor adventures at Battersea Park—including team games, nature trails, and problem-solving challenges—to creative and active sessions at Furzedown Recreation Centre, every day brings something new. Children will learn to cook healthy meals, grow and decorate their own plant pots, and compete in friendly football and basketball tournaments. The programme finishes with a fun-filled swim session and party. It’s the perfect blend of confidence-building, creativity, teamwork, and summer joy—all in a safe and supportive environment

Skilful Network
Supporting Bodies, Minds, Brighter Future
At Skilful Network CIC, we serve and uplift our community by meeting immediate needs and creating lasting opportunities. Through charitable activities and inclusive programmes, we provide hot meals, healthy breakfasts, wellbeing and exercise sessions, football, creative and instrumental skills, after-school and homework clubs, advocacy services, and preventative education. We empower communities to improve their health, develop new skills and overcome challenges.
Participant Information
1. Who can attend these activities? These activities are open to: Children aged 7 to 14 Young people aged 7 to 25 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) We are committed to creating an inclusive, supportive environment where every child or young person can participate confidently. If your child has SEND and may benefit from additional support, please let us know in advance so we can make appropriate arrangements. 2. What time do the sessions run? Most sessions run from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The final celebration day (07/08/2025) runs 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. 3. What skills will my child develop? Each session focuses on a mix of skills: Big Play Out: Confidence, teamwork, communication, physical activity, curiosity, leadership. Healthy Cooking: Nutrition knowledge, creativity, responsibility, independence. Indoor Gardening: Patience, care for nature, mindfulness, creativity. Football Tournament: Fitness, teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship. Basketball Tournament: Coordination, leadership, balance, resilience. Swim & Celebration: Swimming skills, emotional wellbeing, achievement. 4. Are the locations indoor or outdoor? Big Play Out sessions are outdoor trips at Battersea Park. Other sessions are at Furzedown Recreation Centre, which hosts both indoor and outdoor activities depending on the session. 5. What should my child bring? It’s recommended they bring: Comfortable clothes and shoes Water bottle and packed lunch Swimwear and towel (on 07/08/2025) Sunscreen and hat for outdoor days
