Using drawing, painting, collage and simple mixed media techniques. Participants will create a personal art journal that reflects their thoughts, interests and imagination. This session is designed to be relaxed and supportive, with no pressure to be ‘good at art’, just time to experiment, reflect and enjoy the process of creating. During the workshop, participants will: -Learn gentle art journalling techniques -Explore creative self-expression in a calm environment -Build confidence through creative exploration -Take home a journal they can continue to use Build a beautiful journal that becomes your sanctuary, a place to blend mindful art making with reflective Journalling. No artistic experience needed, just a love of creativity and curiosity. About Lia: Lia Sconcia is a creative practitioner and art life coach who runs creative classes and workshops to help all ages with their wellbeing through the process of art. 10 April: Plaster Casting Workshop with Artist Eleanor Rodwell A fun introduction to relief casting with artist Eleanor Rodwell! Participants will use clay and found objects to create a design before making a small plaster cast to take home. A small plaster casting workshop. Individuals will press found objects (mostly natural like leaves, seedheads, shells, twigs, feathers - but some small manmade ones too) into rolled-out clay. They will then put a plastic ring around their design, seal the outside with more clay, and I will pour plaster into their mould. Once set, the clay and ring can be removed, and they will be left with a small plaster impression of their design. I can include hooks or holes in the process so they can hang it once home. If we're at a library with an outside space, they could find their own natural objects to use for casting. The casting activity will probably take around 1.5 hrs - easily before lunch. After lunch, the group would de-mould their cast and wash off the clay with water/brushes. We could end with a fun drawing or writing activity linked to their designs. About Eleanor: Eleanor is a Suffolk-based multi-disciplinary artist, whose practice is rooted in mark-making, the landscape and translating emotional experience. Her mediums span drawing, painting, sculpture and metal casting. She has exhibited both internationally and within the UK, with three solo shows since 2021. With broad experiences in curation, leading creative workshops and working as a bronze foundry assistant, she is now a studio member of the Suffolk artist co-operative Asylum Studios.
