Street Beat
Dream It, Sweat It, Live It!
Street Beat, a high quality performing arts organisation was established in 2017 with the aim of delivering grass roots engagement projects, offering new experiences, advancing the gifted and talented, tacking obesity, reducing anti-social behaviour, encouraging a healthy lifestyle and engaging boys in dance. Street Beat (SB) aim to provide exceptional opportunities to the communities in North Lincolnshire. We offer training and performance opportunities in dance, drama and singing in addition to other community experiences such as fitness sessions, prop & set building, healthy eating & nutrition, Linedancing, parkour, gymnastics plus much more. We provide sessions for all ages from toddlers to the elderly including intergenerational projects. We work in areas of deprivation such as Crosby and Westcliff in addition to isolated communities such as the Isle of Axholme ensuring accessibility to activity for all. We deliver on a variety of projects from grass roots engagement sessions, disability dance and gifted and talented programmes, working closely with North Lincolnshire Arts Development, On Target and Humberside Police. We are advocates for boy’s dance, with a high percentage of male participants within our sessions. We aim to provide everyone with the opportunity to perform and offer showcase opportunities throughout the year supporting charities and community events in addition to theatre shows and entering national and international competitions. We also aim to provide training and progression into professional practice and recruit locally for our staff and practitioners. Our overall aim is to provide quality experiences where people can upskill, improve fitness, to unite communities and break down barriers to engagement.
Ruby

I became interested in dancing from a very younger age and knew I wanted to pursue it when I got older. I do many style such as hiphop, breaking, commercial, house, locking and contemporary. With dancing I have accomplished a lot such as going to Germany and competing, going down to south end and working with diversity and working with channel 4 for a dance programme.
