What we'll do
Girls-only STEM sessions are designed to inspire, encourage, and support girls in exploring science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. These sessions create a welcoming and empowering environment where participants can build skills, grow in confidence, and discover their potential. Each session features hands-on, interactive activities led by industry professionals working across STEM fields. Participants will meet engineers, innovators, and inspiring inventors, gaining real insight into exciting career paths. Beyond developing practical skills, we want every girl to leave feeling motivated, confident, and empowered to imagine herself as a future engineer or STEM leader. In a world where women remain underrepresented in STEM careers, our goal is to nurture belief, ambition, and curiosity in young minds—helping them see that no path is out of reach. Every session offers new activities and guest leaders, while our dedicated museum Learning Facilitators provide continuity and build strong, trusted relationships with participants. Along the way, girls will also have the opportunity to connect with like-minded peers, forming friendships in a supportive and collaborative space. A hot lunch, snacks, drinks, and movement breaks are included to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all.

About your mentor
Culture Coventry
Discover Coventry's museums in creative ways.
Culture Coventry Trust is home to three of Coventry's museums: Coventry Transport Museum, home to the world’s largest collection of British road transport, including the two fastest cars in the world. The award-winning Herbert Art Gallery & Museum, which celebrates the city’s culture, history and arts. The Lunt Roman Fort, a fully excavated and partially reconstructed turf and timber fort, including the only gyrus in the Roman Empire. Between them, these attractions proudly tell stories of Coventry’s unique history to over 800,000 visitors per year from around the world. CV Life is ever evolving and continuously looking for new ways to encourage people to be active and engaged in ways that suit them, their interests and needs.
When you arrive
When you arrive at Coventry Transport Museum, please make your way to the main reception area, which is a large desk area as you enter through the rotating doors. You will see a member of our staff, wearing a purple CV Life uniform. This person works in the ticket area of the museum. Let them know that you are here to attend the HAF programme and they will direct you to our Learning and Engagement Team, who will check you against the register and lead you to the workshop area. Parent's are not required to stay, but they are welcome should the young person need their support. Snacks and drinks are available during the day, but we do recommend bringing your own bottle of water with you too. Lunch will be served in the museum café, where your child can enjoy the social environment of the museum. This will be supervised by our team, with children seated together around a large table for relaxed time together. When you arrive in the morning, your child will have a menu with three hot meal options to choose from. Children need to be dropped off and collected by a parent/carer.
