A SUMMARY
After school Clay club at Michael Hall Pottery Barn on Mondays 3:15 to 4:05. This group is for Michael hall students from class 4 to 8. Ages 10 to 15. We will be making pots using different hand building techniques like pinching, coiling and slabs construction. We will decorate them with slips and glazes. The children will be learning about different decoration techniques. Projects will be provided, but they will also be encouraged to bring their own ideas. Materials included in the price. We have a limit of total fired weight to 3 kilos per child per term. Classes start on the 16th of September. We will have a break on the 28th of October and 4th of November. Classes go until the 9th of December.

Passionate about ceramics and teaching
I am a ceramic artist, potter and designer. I have been working with ceramics for 24 years. I run my own production pottery studio in Forest Row. I have been teaching ceramics for 9 years. I teach one-to-ones, adults and children's groups. I am also the clay modelling and pottery teacher at Michael Hall Steiner school. I'm passionate about craft and specially working with clay because its therapeutic properties. I also love all aspects related to ceramics production including glazing, decorating techniques and alternative firing methods like raku. 
Learning aims
Aim 1
Children will be able to learn pinched pots and coiling techniques.
Aim 2
Children will be able to learn slap building techniques.
Aim 3
Children will learn about slip decorating and the use of stencils, sponge and/or sgraffito.
