What we'll do

SportWorks’ Short Breaks programme is designed to meet the needs of children across a wide age range by offering age-appropriate activities, equipment, and support. Sessions are carefully planned so younger children can enjoy fun, play-based activities, while older children are engaged through more structured sports and skill-building opportunities. Resources are adapted to suit different developmental stages, abilities, and interests, ensuring all children can participate safely and confidently. Trained staff adjust their approach and use suitable equipment to create an inclusive, supportive environment for every age group. Alongside the high-energy activities, we also provide calm and relaxed spaces where children can unwind, take part in quieter play, or explore creative activities at their own pace. This balanced approach means every child can find something they enjoy, whether they thrive on movement or prefer a gentler, more relaxed experience. We place great value on listening to the children and families in our community. Activities are shaped around what children enjoy most, helping each session feel exciting, meaningful, and engaging. All activities are fully adapted to suit different ages and abilities, ensuring every child feels included and supported. Our sessions are delivered as a drop-off service, giving children the opportunity to build independence, confidence, and social connections in a safe and supportive environment. Parents and carers are very welcome to stay for a short time at the beginning of a session to help their child settle in comfortably. Once children are settled, we encourage parents and carers to make the most of this time for themselves, whether that’s running errands, taking a break, or simply enjoying some time to recharge, while feeling reassured that their child is being supported by our experienced team. Our friendly, experienced staff are always on hand to offer reassurance, answer questions, and provide updates where needed. Most importantly, we create a welcoming environment where children can make friends, try new things, and build happy memories that last well beyond the session. We’d love you to join us and see your children laugh, play, relax, and grow in confidence as they discover new skills along the way

Our mentors are trained not only to deliver high-quality sessions but also to connect with families on a personal level – encouraging participation, supporting progress, and celebrating every success, no matter how small.

Assistant Activity Coach

I have a strong interest in helping children with SEND feel included, confident and able to enjoy physical activity. My interest in this role comes from my personal experience supporting young children with SEN needs as well as prior experience at a nursery where I learnt the importance of adapting support to each individual’s needs. I hold a qualification in SEND and am currently completing Early Years Practitioner training. My experience has developed my ability to communicate calmly, encourage positive behaviour, support emotional regulation and create safe, inclusive activities. I love this role because I enjoy seeing children build confidence, develop friendships and achieve their own goals through fun, structured and accessible activities.

Hello, I am Erjona, a dedicated Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children to learn, grow and build confidence. I enjoy creating a positive, safe and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to take part. I believe in helping children develop not only their skills but also their self esteem through fun, teamwork and kindness. I look forward to helping every child enjoy new experiences, stay active and achieve their full potential.

I love getting involved in arts and crafts, activities, and creating a positive environment where every child feels included and supported. With my experience working with children and my childcare qualifications, I'm passionate about making a difference and giving every child the best experience possible.

Hi, my name is Nathan. I’m really passionate about football and love being active, which is why I’m excited to be involved in SEND sports activities. Alongside my love for sport, I also run my own business from a shop, which keeps me busy in the week. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I’m looking forward to supporting and encouraging children to enjoy sports in a fun, safe, and inclusive environment

Free bookings do not require refunds but as places are limited, please cancel if you cannot attend so that your place can be offered to someone else.

My experience is an educational activity and the 14-day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 therefore applies. After the 14 day period my standard policy will apply.
