A summary
Two hours of music and art activities, including in our high quality music studio with our experienced studio engineers, as well as painting, sculpture and fashion projects, followed by two hours of sports at Bollo Bridge Park with our coaches, with basketball, football, cricket, badminton, and a healthy meal. Young people will learn a range of skills, whether on the pitch or back in our music and art studios, as well as making new friends and enjoying hanging out in our established youth centre. Bollo Brook Youth Centre in a year-round facility for young people aged 11+. Upon arrival, attendees will be welcomed by our experienced team of youth workers and shown around the facilities, including the games rooms, music studio, art studio, quiet room, kitchen and toilets. They will then be invited to take part in the activities on offer. Between 2-4pm this will be music and art. In our music studio, they will be able to work with our tutors to learn how to make music using Logic Pro, including making instrumentals of all genres, writing and recording lyrics and studio engineering. In our art studio, they will be supported by our staff to work on they are own projects, as well as group ones, using a range of techniques and a materials, such as painting, clay, wire, collage and digital techniques, such as vinyl cutting and Photoshop. At 4pm we will move to the MUGA in Bollo Bridge Park for sports with our coaches - whether football, basketball, cricket, badminton - whatever takes the fancy of the attendees on the day, with an emphasis on having fun. For those for whom sport is less attractive, we encourage them to take part, but they can also play games at the youth centre, as well as helping with the preparation of the cooked meal at 5.30pm. The food will consist of a healthy cooked disk, designed in discussion with the young people. All meat is halal and we cater for vegetarian and vegan options. We like to talk to the young people to see what kind of food they like, as well as introduce them to new flavours from around the world. We also have a BBQ for outside cooking on sunny days! All of our staff have been working with us for a number of years and are experienced in working with young people, including offering SEND support for young people with additional needs. For attendees arriving by car, parking in very limited in the local area, so quick drop-offs and pick-ups are recommended. The youth centre is near to Acton Town and South Acton stations and 2 minutes walk from a bus stop for the 440.
