A summary
We have consistently shown that all our 50 children’s families have increased their healthy eating awareness due to family involvement. In addition, since commencing the HAF program 4 years ago, feedback has demonstrated that education and activities positively impact children well-being. Our Take & Make program teaches parents healthy meal choices, e.g. Children who eat and enjoy breakfast every day have better memories, more stable moods and energy, and score higher on tests—eating breakfast with quality protein—from enriched cereal, yoghurt, milk, cheese, eggs, meat, or fish. Breakfast need be time-consuming. For example, in our HAF that runs from 9 am -1pm, we educate parents by telling them we give an apple to go, an egg sandwich or a pot of Greek yoghurt, and wholegrain toast, which parents can all give to be eaten on the way to school. Our menu is designed to meet School Food Standards, offering balanced, nutritious meals to support healthy growth and development. Sample Weekly Menu Monday: Chicken stir-fry with brown rice/Jollof rice with chicken Tofu stir-fry Steamed vegetables Fresh fruit salad Tuesday: Whole meal pasta with turkey Bolognese Lentil Bolognese/Spinach and lentil Side salad, garlic bread Yogurt with berries Wednesday: Grilled fish fingers, mashed potatoes Veggie fingers Peas and sweetcorn Banana oat muffins Thursday: Chicken wraps with whole meal tortillas Falafel wraps/Burger Coleslaw, carrot sticks Fruit smoothies Friday: Homemade margherita pizza (Same) Cucumber sticks, sweet potato wedges Watermelon slices For Summer 2026 Activities: Day Trips to Greenwich Museum, Flip out (Ninja obstacle, trampoline, inflatables, bumper cars) Cinema, farm visit, sport day at Stratford Park, Picnic at Queen Elizabeth Park Art and Craft, Physical activity, planting, cooking, Computer Games PS4 / Xbox, indoor basket ball, football table. and green space for activities Enrichment Activities and Trips We have curated an engaging program of enrichment activities designed to stimulate creativity, promote wellbeing, and bridge the holiday experience gap experienced by children in FSM households.
