A summary
Carol will explain the different types of silver clay available (e.g., PMC, Art Clay) and the firing processes involved (kiln or torch). Design and Sculpt: After the basics, participants begin designing their pieces. You can create pendants, earrings, charms. The clay is soft and easy to shape using hands, molds, and simple tools like cutters, rolling pins, and texture plates. Firing Process: Once your pieces are shaped, they need to be fired using a hand held torch. Finishing: After firing, the silver object will have a rough finish and might need polishing, sanding, or texturing to bring out its final shine. Materials Provided: The workshop typically includes a set amount of silver clay (enough to create 1-3 small pieces), firing costs, and finishing tools. Additional materials may be available for purchase. Ideal For: Beginners and experienced crafters alike, as the process is beginner-friendly but also has depth for those with experience in metalworking or jewelry-making. It’s a fun, artistic workshop where you get to leave with a beautiful, custom-made silver piece!
