Safe and Healthy Youth (SHY) CIC
Building safer and healthier futures
Safe and Healthy Youth (SHY) CIC is a community organisation supporting young people aged 11 to 25 and families across Hull through wellbeing activities, mentoring, food support, creative sessions, life skills, and safe community spaces. Our programmes help young people build confidence, improve mental wellbeing, develop positive relationships, and stay active within a supportive environment. We provide inclusive activities including sports, creative arts, cooking, outdoor activities, group workshops, and community support sessions designed to help young people feel safe, valued, and empowered.
A summary
Young people will enjoy a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment where they can make friends, build confidence and learn new skills. Sessions include fun icebreakers, teamwork challenges, creative arts and crafts, cooking and healthy eating activities, wellbeing sessions, leadership activities, nature discovery, park activities and group games. Healthy meals and snacks will be provided daily, and every young person will be encouraged to take part, have fun and feel valued.

Aim 1
Young people will learn healthy lifestyle habits through cooking activities, healthy eating discussions and active outdoor sessions.

Young people will make new friends, build social connections and feel more included in their community.
Aim 2
Young people will develop confidence, communication and teamwork skills through group challenges, games and leadership activities.
Aim 4
Young people will improve their wellbeing, resilience and self-esteem through positive relationships, creative activities and supportive discussions.
